Cradles-2-Crayons Family Daycare is our family's non-smoking home on a quiet street centrally located in Stratford, Ontario. It is an active daycare in a lovely child-friendly setting. We have a partially fenced yard that is excellent for play and group activities, wonderful for our outdoor time all year round. We are also within walking distance to several parks including the new splashpad.
We are certified in Standard First Aid CPR Level C as well I have received certification in Crisis Prevention. We have Child Care Liability Insurance with coverage for up to 5 daycare children. We also have clear OPP Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks (including the Pardoned Sexual Offenders List). I have received my Educational Assistant Certificate from Conestoga College and I have received my Family Child Care Training Certificate from the Child Care Provider Connection. I have studied the Train the Trainer Guide as well through the Canadian Child Care Federation. I have also completed a 2 year full time program at Fanshawe College to earn my Theatre Arts Diploma. It is my goal to provide every child a chance at shining in their own unique way, through the gift of art. My husband has the talent for visual arts and I have a talent for dramatic arts. We plan great educational crafts and activities for the children!
My husband and I have been married for 22 years, together for 25 years. We have also raised our own family of 5 children, 2 still at home, the youngest is 16 years old. We also share our home with 2 mature cats and a small dog, very child-friendly.
I am a registered member of the Child Care Provider Connection, the Child Care Provider Resource Network and the Coalition of Independent Childcare Providers of Ontario. I also belong to several childcare groups online where we network together to share information, support, and interesting activities for our children. These groups provide unique opportunities to connect with providers and children worldwide, from Canada to Australia. We take part in a Postcard Exchange, a Christmas Card Exchange, and even a Teddy Bear Exchange on an annual basis.
