Our Daycare:
We operate Cradles-2-Crayons Family Daycare from our non-smoking home southwest of Stratford, west of Avonton. It is a rural daycare in a lovely park-like setting. A large tree-lined yard that is excellent for picnics and group activities. Wonderful for our outdoor time all year round.
Our Training:
I am certified in Standard First Aid CPR Level C as well I have received training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. I also have a clear OPP Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check (including the Pardoned Sexual Offenders List). Hired assistants will be required to submit a clear OPP Criminal Record Check and will be provided with their First Aid and CPR Level C as well as further Staff Training. I have received my Educational Assistant Certificate from Conestoga College and I have received my Family Child Care Training Certificate from the Child Care Provider Connection. I have studied the Train the Trainer Guide through the Canadian Child Care Federation and will begin offering the FCCT Program to interested local child care providers.
Our Family:
My husband and I have been married for over 16 years, together for 19 years. We have also raised our own family of 5 children, 3 still at home, the youngest is 10 years old.
Association Memberships:
I am a registered member of the Association of Day Care Operators of Ontario, the Child Care Provider Connection, and the Huron-Perth Chapter of Autism Ontario. I also belong to several childcare groups online where we network together to share information, support, and interesting activities for our children. These groups provide unique opportunities to connect with providers and children worldwide, from Canada to Australia. We have taken part in a Postcard Exchange, a Christmas Card Exchange, and even a Teddy Bear Exchange.
